Back from oblivion (being hacked).

Oct. 15, 2019 — I think it’s been a couple of weeks since Google/Firefox put a ‘red screen of death’ up when people tried to access booksforhikers.com. Not being a technically-savvy person when it comes to dealing with the nitty-gritty behind-the-scenes stuff, the first time I saw that screen I went into a seriously stressed-out mode. Finally settled on a company called malware.com to fix the problem, but fixing it took some time because I had to allow them access to my site to do the necessary ftp-ing and whatnot for me. Then I had to deal with Google to get them to un-block my site. It looks like the red screen is finally gone today, on both Firefox and Explorer. I need to think of some way to celebrate!

And, by the way, the latest two books I’ve added are, 1) A novel about an A.T. hostel and a bunch of hikers, by Mark Moore titled “Thirdway” and 2) a memoir of a calendar year Triple Crown, “Free Outside” by Jeff Garmire (listed under all three trails: AT, CDT, and PCT.)
